Founders Iain and Richard both share a passion for intelligent design, rural locations and green living.

With backgrounds covering all aspects of project management and property they form a strong duo, well equipped to achieve their goal of paving the way to a new mindset of responsible house building.

Working as a design-led project manager in his formative years, followed by an educational stint in PCL residential sales, meant Iain was well placed for the transition to property development in 2010. His love of the great outdoors and interest in sustainable building design has combined to form a founding half of Bower.

A long-standing member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS), Richard started his career in the City of London covering commercial lettings and asset management. This was followed by a move to PCL residential sales, real estate consultation and then residential development. Despite his London base, Richard has a healthy obsession with the rivers, moors and forests of the countryside having grown up in North Yorkshire. This respect for the land and its conservation has buoyed his desire to change the way England builds new homes and hence co-found Bower.
